When working on your art. Where do you get your inspiration from?
I usually draw things from the top of my head, but I would pay homage to Tetsuya Nomura; he is the creator of Kingdom Hearts. As a kid, that blew my mind, and ever since, I have wanted to be the black Tetsuya ( laughs). Working on my manga is very fun, and my inspiration from that comes from the outcry from women/ black women who constantly complained they wanted a series about black Fantasy women who are warriors, elves, etc.
Gerald Lee is your director/ friend. How did you two meet?
My brother Robert Jackson is an actor and was shooting a scene for a reel…Or a show? ( laughs) but he invited me to come along, and I helped out on set; after we were leaving, Robert introduced me and told Gerald that I was a writer, and from there, we exchanged numbers. I sent him two scripts, and he ended up liking both but, in the end, decided to work on Project Orange First. We’re still in the development stages, but eventually, we will move to phase 2.
Project Orange and Project Bruja are to be revealed sometime in 2023 to 2024? How do you feel?
Impatient (laughs), we still have studios trying to give us a proper deal and getting more investors involved. When the time comes, everything will be shown. But for the most part, I’m grateful and glad Gerald Lee even talked to me ( laughs).
You’re almost at 20k on Tik-Tok. How do you feel?
Pretty good, just enjoying making videos and having fun with all the ideas we come up with. We will be dropping more videos soon. So please be patient. Virtual hugs.
We want to ask you a question. Who is your favourite music artist, dead or alive? You can name more than one.
( laughs) uh well, let’s see…
- Askylitdrive
- Lil Wayne
- Utada Hikaru
- Xxxtentacion
- Shiny Toy Guns
- YoungThug
- Aurora
- Nicki Minaj
- Atarashii Gakko!
- Drake
I really can’t think of more. But I’m pretty sure there’s more that hasn’t crossed my mind ( laughs).
