A uncommon blue diamond was on show Tuesday at an exhibition of $100 million value of the world’s rarest diamonds within the United Arab Emirates’ capital, Abu Dhabi.
The eight diamonds on show on the Sotheby’s exhibition have a complete weight of over 700 carats.
Guests centered on the 10-karat blue diamond from South Africa, thought-about some of the essential blue diamonds ever found. Sotheby’s expects it to be auctioned off at $20 million in Might.
Quig Bruning, the corporate’s head of jewels in North America, Europe and the Center East, stated they selected Abu Dhabi for the present exhibition due to the Gulf nation’s excessive curiosity in diamonds.
“We have great optimism about the region,” he stated. “We feel very strongly that this is the kind of place where you have both traders and collectors of diamonds of this importance and of this rarity.”
