The proprietor of a Queens cellphone retailer attempting to fend off two armed robbers was shot in each legs earlier than his assailants fled on a scooter, police stated.
Kunwarjee Singh, 40, was holding store at High-in-City Wi-fi on Steinway St. close to thirty fourth Ave. in Astoria when the gunmen barged in round 6:45 p.m. Friday, cops stated.
Singh put up a battle and the robbers shot him in each legs earlier than grabbing his Rolex watch and escaping on a scooter.
After the gunmen fled, Singh referred to as his brother to inform him what occurred.
“He called me and said, ‘There were two of them. I got shot,’ and then the phone hung up,” stated 48-year-old Gurpreet Singh. “My brother is a very tough guy. We deal with a lot of crazy people. My brother is not the sort of person to give in easily, he doesn’t let people rob him.”
