A 72-year-old American man touring on a Princess Cruise ship mysteriously vanished from the boat, prompting officers to consider he fell overboard sooner or later in the course of the five-day voyage round Mexico.
Authorities launched a seek for the passenger after the Ruby Princess docked in San Francisco simply earlier than 7 a.m. Monday and crews realized the passenger was nowhere to be discovered onboard, the cruise line mentioned.
The person, who hasn’t been recognized publicly, was touring alone and is feared lifeless.
“Princess worked throughout the day with local authorities. CCTV footage has also been extensively reviewed and the ship was searched thoroughly several times without success,” a spokesperson for the cruise line advised The Submit.
“Having ruled out other possibilities, this is being treated as a man overboard incident.”
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the guest who was traveling alone,” the spokesperson added.
The Ruby Princess set off for Ensenada in Mexico on Nov. 27.
It wasn’t instantly clear when the passenger went overboard.
