Heavy rain and whipping winds of as much as 50 miles per hour are forecast to sock New York Sunday afternoon.
“It’s looking like an inch or two of rain, and it will be pretty gusty. We could see some periodic 30 to 40 mile per hour gusts throughout the city,” Fox Climate meteorologist Cody Braud informed The Publish Saturday.
“And closer to the coast, it could be upwards of 50 miles an hour. I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re put on a wind advisory for tomorrow.”
The showers will begin round 3 or 4 p.m. on Sunday and won’t let up till Monday morning.
The tri-state storm comes as lethal tornadoes have swept via the South and the Midwest, killing 16 folks.
“It will be a couple of waves, we’ll get a secondary wave into the nighttime hours,” he stated.

“There may be some lingering rain Monday morning, but it will be light.”
Southern New Jersey right down to the Maryland, Washington, D.C. space might see even stronger winds.
