The Nationwide Border Patrol Council formally endorsed former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard in her nomination for director for nationwide intelligence.
Incoming Senate Intelligence Committee chair Senator Tom Cotton (R-AK) acquired a letter of endorsement from the NBPC on Thursday — with the important thing homeland safety union giving two thumbs as much as Gabbard, in line with the Each day Wire.
“On behalf of the National Border Patrol Council, I write to express our complete and total support of President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to be the Director of National Intelligence, former U.S. Representative and Lieutenant Colonel Tulsi Gabbard,” the letter obtained by The Each day Wire reads.
“We have no doubt that Lt. Col. Gabbard is the right person to be the DNI and will work tirelessly to keep our nation safe, just as she has done for the past two decades,” the letter continues.
The letter argued that Gabbard’s navy service correctly informs her understanding of the significance of the threats in opposition to the nation the DNI is anticipated to deal with.
The union harped on the threats stemming from the nation’s porous southern border.
“The U.S. Intelligence Community, led by the DNI,plays an integral role in our border security by monitoring the potential for these threats to enter our country,” the union wrote.
“From transnational criminal organizations operating in North, Central, and South America to foreign terrorist organizations and hostile state actors, these entities and individuals will always attempt to exploit our unsecure [sic] borders to further their activities that threaten the American people,” the endorsement continued.
This isn’t the one excessive profile endorsement that Gabbard has acquired.
Former CIA counterterrorism chief Bernard Hudson gave his full-throated approval of Trump’s nominee in a Nationwide Evaluation editorial printed final week.
“She has the right experience, temperament, and professional integrity to restore faith in America’s intelligence community,” Hudson wrote.
Gabbard, 43, who solely not too long ago turned a registered Republican, was one in all Trump’s first nominations following his election victory in November.
“I know Tulsi will bring the fearless spirit that has defined her illustrious career to our Intelligence Community, championing our Constitutional Rights, and securing Peace through Strength,” Trump stated of the previous vice chair of the DNC.
Gabbard continuously stumped for Trump throughout the latter phases of the 2024 election cycle, giving her endorsement of the once-and-future president at a rally in Greensboro, NC, in October.
The four-term Democrat congresswoman from Hawaii had endorsed President Joe Biden in 2020 after her personal failed bid to safe her social gathering’s nomination.
