Love is Blind … and apparently late.
The hit Netflix reality dating show caused an uproar across social media Sunday – with several companies even throwing shade – after a livestream of its special reunion episode was delayed for more than an hour.
“Love is Blind” Season 4 contestants were expected to be interviewed on the show since they tied the knot after getting engaged without ever seeing each other.
Viewers tuning in at 8 p.m. ET saw a message that said there is an issue with the livestream and to hang tight.
In the meantime, companies flooded the show’s Instagram livestream demanding answers and the promised programming.
“This wait is longer than our menu,” the Cheesecake Factory proclaimed. “Come on now.”
“Alright we need marshall and we need him now,” MTV commented, referring to the well-liked contestant. “Maybe cable TV made some points.”
The reunion special was Netflix’s second-ever live broadcast on its own platform.
“While Netflix figures things out, come shop @ebay,” ebay pleaded.
Even Blockbuster chimed in.
“Remember renting vhs’ from us. You could start it on time no problem… This is what we get,” its Twitter account blasted out.
Vanessa Lachey, who is co-hosting “Love Is Blind: The Live Reunion” with her husband Nick Lachey, provided an update as the internet went berserk.
“We are ready to roll, we just gotta figure this out,” Vanessa Lachay said. “We’re getting everything to work.”
She vowed, “We are not asking any questions to anybody until we are streaming live into your living rooms, onto your phones, onto your tablets, whatever you’re watching on.”
Netflix acknowledged the delay on Twitter — first promising it would start 15 minutes late before adding : “Promise #LoveIsBlindLIVE will be worth the wait….”
The show eventually aired at around 9:16 p.m. — though some Netflix users still reported issues accessing the stream.
“We are sorry we’re late,” Vanessa Lachey said at the top of the stream. “And all of you at home, you haven’t missed a thing. We’ve actually been sitting in these couches, not talking to each other so we can save all the tea for you.”
