Kate Middleton shared a hopeful and galvanizing message for her Christmas carol service after battling most cancers.
In line with The Solar, the Princess of Wales, 42, recorded the message as a part of her annual “Together at Christmas” service that she hosted earlier this month and might be televised on Christmas Eve.
“Welcome to our ‘Together at Christmas’ carol service here at Westminster Abbey,” Middleton started her message. “Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year, it is a time for presents, tinsel and mince pies, but it’s also a time to slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all.”
“It is when we stop and take ourselves away from the pressures of daily life, that we find the space to live our lives with an open heart, with love, kindness and forgiveness, so much of what the Christmas spirit is all about,” she continued.
Middleton went on, “The Christmas story encourages us to consider the experiences and feelings of others. It also reflects our own vulnerabilities and reminds us of the importance of giving and receiving empathy, as well as just how much we need each other in spite of our differences. Above all else, it encourages us to turn to love, not fear. The love that we show ourselves and the love we show others. Love that listens with empathy, love that is kind and understanding, love that is forgiving, and love that brings joy and hope.”
“It is love which is the greatest gift we can receive, not just at Christmas but every day of our lives,” she stated. “Across the United Kingdom there are so many inspiring people embracing those in need. This carol service is a heartfelt celebration of every one of you, and a reminder that at Christmas, and throughout the year, we must all shine for each other. Because in times of joy and sadness, we are all each other’s light.”
“I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas,” she concluded her message.
Middleton hosted her fourth annual Christmas carol service on Friday, Dec. 6 at Westminster Abbey in London.
The princess arrived on the occasion early with out her household to greet the volunteers, reported Individuals.
She wore an extended pink coat with an outsized black velvet bow on the collar. Middleton accessorized her festive look with pearl drop earrings and tall black boots.
Prince William later arrived with their three youngsters — sons Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, 6, and daughter Princess Charlotte, 9 — and was greeted by Middleton exterior.

“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”
