The bid for Juan Soto’s companies is lastly coming to a head.
With everybody fiending for data surrounding Soto’s free company, his agent, Scott Boras, lastly quelled some hypothesis that his announcement is imminent.
“When you’re going through these things, he’s just got a lot of information to meld through,” Boras informed reporters after a Dodgers information convention introducing his fellow shopper, Blake Snell, who agreed to a five-year, $182 million take care of the reigning World Sequence champs.
“We’ve had meetings with a number of franchises. He’s begun the process of eliminating teams and doing things and so he’s — Juan is a very methodical thinker. So we’ll see. But I don’t think anything is imminent in the near future.”
The Put up’s Jon Heyman reported that Soto is predicted to be critically contemplating a return to the Yankees, in addition to having conferences with the Mets, Crimson Sox and Blue Jays.
It isn’t but clear who has been eradicated from the Soto sweepstakes.
The Put up’s Joel Sherman reported Tuesday that the expectation is Soto’s contract will exceed $600 million.
Shohei Ohtani’s monster 10-year, $700 million contract he signed with the Dodgers final offseason is the present document, with $680 million being deferred.
Soto turned down a 15-year, $440 million deal from the Nationals in 2022 and was later traded to the Padres. He was acquired by the Yankees final December in a blockbuster commerce with San Diego.
His exorbitant value has dwindled the potential suitors for the lefty-hitting outfielder, though, his worth has continued to climb.
