“Canada and New York State are really part of one region,” Hochul stated on MSNBC’s “The Weekend” program.

“Canada, and this is not a surprise, is talking about retaliatory tariffs on our products. Our businesses are going to feel this immediately,” Hochul stated.

She stated New York is an financial engine for the nation, so a tariff struggle can have a “ripple effect” throughout the nation.
“This is going to be an additional tax on New York residents and American residents. I don’t see a way around it,” the governor stated.
