Cher has revealed she was “shocked” to study her actual title after discovering there was a mix-up together with her delivery certificates on the hospital when she was born.
In her new memoir, “Cher: The Memoir, Part One,” the “Believe” hitmaker stated she was below the impression that her actual title was Cherilyn for years — till she lastly went to alter her authorized title to Cher.
“I believed Cherilyn was my name,” the 78-year-old wrote, “until the day years later when I decided to legally change my name to simply Cher.”
The “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer stated that after her mom, Georgia Holt, gave delivery to her in 1946, a nurse had requested what moniker she had landed on for the child.
