A semi-trailer truck smuggling greater than $31 million value of meth throughout the US-Mexico border in Texas was busted after authorities discovered the stockpile of medicine hid in a cargo of inexperienced peppers.
The spicy discovery was made when border patrol determined to conduct a routine inspection of the automobile after it tried to enter the nation on the Pharr Worldwide Bridge port of entry from Mexico on Sunday, in accordance with the US Customs and Border Safety.
Using x-ray imaging gadgets, officers uncovered 1,859 bundles of meth disguised in inexperienced packaging hidden among the many cargo of serrano peppers.
“Our CBP officers continue to remain vigilant and intercepted this massive methamphetamine load, preventing it from reaching American streets,” Port Director Carolos Rodriguez mentioned.
The medicine weighed 2,155 kilos with an estimated avenue worth of $31,169,000, CBP mentioned.
The hoard of medicine and the automobile have been seized by the Workplace of Area Operations, officers mentioned.
Authorities haven’t but launched details about the smuggler.
