Bob Uecker, the legendary radio voice of the Brewers who had known as their video games since 1971 and was nicknamed “Mr. Baseball,” died on Thursday, the group introduced.
He was 90.
Uecker was beloved for his humorousness and gained nationwide popularity of his position as announcer Harry Doyle within the “Major League” motion pictures.
A Milwaukee native, Uecker was an MLB catcher for six seasons, enjoying his first two years along with his hometown Milwaukee Braves and successful a World Sequence with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1964.
Uecker was enshrined within the Baseball Corridor of Fame in 2003 because the winner of the Ford C. Frick Award, which honors a broadcaster yearly.
