Marlon Wayans slammed Soulja Boy after the rapper used an anti-gay slur to assault him and his transgender son on social media, declaring he hasn’t “been relevant since 2007.”
Soulja, 34, posted his homophobic and transphobic message on X (previously referred to as Twitter) on Wednesday, writing, “That f—-t s–t run in the family huh? @MarlonWayans no wonder u like dressing up as a bitch it’s in ur blood.”
The Chicago native accompanied his feedback with screenshots from tales printed in 2023, one from TMZ and one from Males’s Journal, about Wayans’ assist for his transgender son.
Over 3 hours later, Wayans, 52, clapped again.
“If @souljaboy had a career he could get cancelled for this type of slander,” the “White Chicks” star wrote on X together with a screenshot of the rapper’s publish. “Luckily he ain’t been relevant since 2007.”
Soulja rose to fame in ’07 with the discharge of his music “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” which spent 7 weeks atop the Billboard Sizzling 100. His final Sizzling 100 entry, “Pretty Boy Swag,” dropped in 2010 and peaked at No. 34.
Wayans’ 2023 phrases of assist for his trans son had been pulled from an interview he did with The Breakfast Membership on the time, the place he mentioned a comedy particular he was planning related to his son’s transition course of.
“I have a daughter that transitioned into a son. My daughter Amai is now Kai,” the comic mentioned. “And so I talk about the transition. Not their transition, but my transition as a parent, going from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance. And I think there’s a lot of parents out there that need to have that message. And I’m dealing with it. It was a very painful situation for me.”
The disagreement between Wayans and Soulja started earlier than Wednesday, nonetheless, and seems to stem again to feedback the “Bel-Air” actor made in January blasting the rapper for acting at one among Donald Trump’s inaugural celebrations.
Marlon unloaded on Soulja Boy, claiming he had been “canceled” and wanted the gig to remain related.
“I mean Soulja Boy, he been canceled, nobody cares about Soulja Boy,” Wayans advised 101.1 The Wiz on Jan. 24, per Vibe. “So Soulja Boy better go and get that check… He don’t care… I think they thought it was a Bitcoin event, and they found out it was a ball for him, and it was too late to pull out. But you know, that’s why you’ve got to check the fine print.”
Soulja has used anti-gay and anti-trans language in different posts geared toward Wayans, who in flip claimed the rapper appeared like he abused medication and accused him of molesting an underage male.
