Drew Barrymore is addressing her uncomfortable change with Martha Stewart on her present — and insists that Stewart was solely joking when she pushed her away after being “too touchy.”
“I think she was just teasing,” the 49-year-old speak present host advised Andy Cohen throughout a current episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”
“I think the internet just misunderstood the moment and ran with it,” she continued.
The “50 First Dates” star went viral when Stewart, 83, pushed her away throughout an interview on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in November 2024.
The 2 ladies have been speaking about what makes Stewart really feel “soft and gooey” inside when being handled like a woman because the “Ever After” actor caressed her again and arm.
“You’re the wrong gender,” the cookbook creator mentioned, pushing Barrymore away rapidly.
“I know … although, the way it’s going with men, though, Martha, I’m not so sure anymore,” Barrymore quipped on the time.
Barrymore advised Cohen that she considers Stewart a good friend, which she hasn’t mentioned prior to now.
“I’ve never been able to say this before with confidence, but I can now, I think Martha really does like me,” the “Charles Angels” star mentioned.
“When I was first getting to know her, I was like, ‘I don’t think she likes me.’ But I think I broke through … she doesn’t dislike me,” she continued.
Barrymore is thought for her sensitive interview model — particularly being “pupil to pupil.”
“And the reason for being pupil to pupil is …?” Cohen requested the “Blended” actor.
“I don’t know [why]. I can’t actually control it,” she replied.
Barrymore was beforehand referred to as out for being “cringey” for holding Oprah Winfrey’s hand and stroking her arm throughout an interview in December 2023.
Some viewers have warned Barrymore to be much less bodily throughout her interviews prior to now, which incorporates holding friends’ fingers and hugging them.
Barrymore revealed that she’s engaged on her “proximity” and attempting to take care of a “physical distance” from friends through the fifth season of her present.
