Taste Flav has thrown his help behind Selena Gomez after she was hit with backlash for posting a video of herself crying over President Trump’s program of mass deportations.
“Team Selena Gomez. Again,” the “Fight the Power” rapper, 65, wrote on X Monday as he jumped to the “Only Murders in the Building” star’s protection.
“That woman is always so brave to share her truth,,, and so many are quick to bully her.”
Flav’s publish got here simply hours after Gomez, 32, posted — after which rapidly deleted — a video of herself sobbing on social media.
“All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise,” Gomez advised her 422 million Instagram followers.
“I’m sorry,” the “Love On” singer captioned her clip alongside a Mexican flag emoji.
After deleting the video, Gomez shared a follow-up message to the world on her Instagram Story — then deleted that publish, as effectively.
“Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people,” she wrote.
The “Emilia Pérez” actress was immediately hit with backlash from social media customers and political figures, together with Sam Parker, a 2018 Republican Senate candidate from Utah.
“Deport Selena Gomez,” Parker wrote on X.
Not lengthy after, Gomez returned to her Instagram Story to reply to the politician’s publish.
“Oh, Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat,” she wrote.
Elsewhere, border czar Tom Homan stated the Trump administration has “no apologies” for the ICE raids focusing on unlawful migrants within the US when requested about Gomez’s plea.
In his response, Homan denied the alleged assaults Gomez referenced and claimed that Immigration Customs and Enforcement is focusing on unlawful migrants with prior prison historical past.
“If they don’t like it, then go to Congress and change the law. We’re going to do this operation without apology,” Homan advised Fox Information.
“We’re gonna make our community safer. It is all for the good of this nation. And we’re gonna keep going. No apologies. We’re moving forward.”
Over the weekend alone, ICE made 286 arrests on Saturday and 956 on Sunday.
On Tuesday, raids started happening in and round NYC because the Trump administration ramped up the quota to at the least 1,800 arrests per day.
Up to now, ICE has made greater than 4,500 arrests since Trump’s return to workplace and has carried out raids in main sanctuary cities together with New York, Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles and Boston.
