Six transgender active-duty service members have sued President Trump over his govt order banning trans folks from serving.
The swimsuit – filed in Washington, DC, federal court docket Tuesday by six present service members and two transgender folks looking for to enlist – comes a day after Trump signed an order claiming transgender folks’s sexuality “conflicts with a soldier’s commitment to an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle” and hurts navy preparedness.
One of many plaintiffs, Military Capt. Gordon Herrero, fired again in a press release Monday saying, “There’s nothing about being transgender that makes me better or worse than any other soldier I serve alongside.”
“We are all here because we are committed to our country, and we are passionate, willing, and able to serve effectively.”
