Gracie Abrams can’t consider her life.
There’s little doubt that the 25-year-old singer is a music sensation. She’s recent off Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, has her greatest hit thus far with “That’s So True,” and was the latest musical performer on “Saturday Night Live.”
Abrams — the daughter of “Star Trek” and “Star Wars” director J.J. Abrams — opened up about her success in an interview with Nylon journal printed on Tuesday.
“They’re like, ‘What in the world?’” she joked when requested about her guardian’s response to her fame. “But it’s really sweet.”
Whereas her father is a widely known sci-fi director, she shared that her mother is “the toughest person I know.”
“The way that she treats people is how I want to treat people, and for me to see her be that way towards this community that cares so much about the music …” the singer shared as her voice trailed off. “Her support and encouragement of my writing my whole life is the reason that I’m doing any of this now.”
Abrams not too long ago made her “SNL” debut, starring because the musical visitor on the long-running sketch present on Dec. 14, whereas comedic legend Chris Rock served as host.
Unpacking her “SNL” look, Abrams stated she nearly felt like she “cheated the system.”
“For some reason, booking the Eras Tour and booking SNL exist in the same part of my brain where I didn’t know that chemicals in my head could release like that,” she advised the outlet.
“It’s such a privilege, an honor to do it. And also Chris Rock hosting is so f – – king nuts!” Abrams added. “I feel like I somehow cheated the system into being there for his show.”
She additionally spoke about taking the stage throughout Swift’s Eras Tour, which included the ultimate present on Dec. 8 at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.
“Everyone had been crying all day. It felt like the last day of school backstage,” Abrams stated. “Everyone was walking around with their [Eras Tour] books, signing each other’s books. We were all walking around with Sharpies.”
She added, “I’m feeling emotional and grateful and in a state of shock that we don’t, as a global community, get to experience that source of light anymore.”
Whereas Abrams was open about her success, she was tight-lipped when requested about her relationship with “Gladiator II” actor Paul Mescal.
The pair have been photographed collectively a number of occasions over the previous six months.
When requested about navigating high-profile relationships below the general public microscope, she responded, “That has nothing to do with me. It doesn’t affect me.”
