Travis Hunter celebrated his large evening Saturday together with his longtime supporter at his aspect.
Upon being named this 12 months’s Heisman Trophy winner, the two-way Colorado Buffaloes star shared an intimate second with fiancée Leanna Lenee, who posted a handful of photographs from the New York festivities on Instagram.
“Winner winner chicken dinner,” she captioned the couple’s snapshots, to which Hunter replied, “What they gone say now.”
Hunter, a large receiver and cornerback, defeated Boise State working again Ashton Jeanty, Miami quarterback Cam Ward and Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel for faculty soccer’s most prestigious honor.
The 21-year-old’s win marked the fifth time this century a quarterback was not awarded the Heisman Trophy.
Hunter, presumably the No. 1 general choose within the 2025 NFL Draft, gushed over Lenee and family members in his acceptance speech on Saturday.
“I never thought I’d be in this position,” Hunter stated, in response to NFL.com. “It’s crazy. Your belief will take you a long way. It’s actually crazy, man. Thank you, thank you, thank you. First, I want to thank my fiancée and my mother. They’ve been with me since the first time I had surgery my first year of college. They never took a step away from me. All the hard hours. All the hard days. All the times I didn’t want to wake up and even get on my phone, look at football, y’all stayed with me. I’m very thankful for y’all.”
Within the days main as much as the Heisman Trophy ceremony, Hunter — whose engagement to Lenee was revealed in February — spoke in regards to the couple’s relationship following a viral postgame second in November.
“She’s my closest to everything, she helped me with everything,” Hunter stated on a current installment of “The Pivot Podcast.” “It’s kind of hard sometimes but she’s always there.”
Lenee cheered on Hunter throughout a dominant season with the Buffaloes, recording 92 receptions for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns.
