The Kardashians are ready for the Met Gala.
Skims tycoon Kim Kardashian posted video to her Instagram story showing a trio of massage beds in a posh hotel room, surrounded by flower petals and candles. On the wall, spelled out in silver letters, are the words “Karl Lagerfeld Met Gala.”
Well-heeled celebs including the reality TV star and her clan will descend upon the Metropolitan Museum of Art Monday for the United States fashion industry’s biggest annual party. Tickets, which benefit the museum’s Costume Institute, start at $50,000.
Co-chairs include tennis star Roger Federer, “Levitating” singer Dua Lipa and “Vicky Cristy Barcelona″ actor Penélope Cruz.
“New York here we come!!!!” Cruz wrote on an Instagram photo showing her in a white gown.
Vogue editor Anna Wintour has presided over the Met Gala since 1995. The queen bee fashionista teased to Monday’s festivities with video featuring herself and the honoree.
“The dress code is: In honor of Karl,” she wrote.
The eccentric German designer died in 2019, ending a career that saw him reinvent Chanel and serve as the fashion house’s creative director for nearly four decades. It was Wintour’s decision to make “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” the Met Gala’s 2023 theme.
“The Girl from Plainville” star Elle Fanning told Variety last month she was excited about the gala’s Lagerfeld homage.
“I am truly going on theme,” she said. “I have a good story behind the look that is special to me. I’m excited.”
Her Monday Instagram showed the 25-year-old performer wearing what appears to be an exfoliating mask while downing a green drink.
“Bottoms up Met,” she captioned that image.
Multi-talented “I May Destroy You” creator Michaela Coel, who’s also a Met Gala co-chair, posted Instagram images showing her hitting the town dressed to the nines and getting gussied-up — possible for Monday night.
“Pre met gala (sic),” she captioned one photo.
Count “Gossip Girl” star Blake Lively among past attendees who don’t plan to attend the 2023 Met Gala. In 2022, she sported a head-turning Versace Atelier gown with a huge bow and no straps.
“I’ll be wearing that on my couch on Monday,” she said at a Tiffany & Co. event on Fifth Avenue last week.
