A 37-year-old New Jersey woman has been charged in her husband’s death after she allegedly drove over him while drunk, officials said.
Amanda O’Keefe, of Hillsborough, ran over her husband, Robert O’Keefe, 41, about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 25, police and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
Her blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit at the time of the incident outside their home on Clark Lane, the Daily Voice reported.
Robert was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald.
On Wednesday, Amanda turned herself in to authorities and was arrested on a charge of second-degree death by auto, officials said.
She was released from the Somerset County Jail the following day pending a future court appearance.
